We try to do as many school outings as possible. Each year we have termly walks and celebrations, we also visit local sites of natural and historical interest and local cottage industries. All these trips are open to the whole school and parents are especially welcome to join us – and often needed to help us with adult to child ratios.
Annual walks in the New Forest include our Autumn Walk and Summer Leavers Walk. Annual trips include the combined Science and Geography field trip, a visit to the theatre, and an Art trip to a museum.
We also take park in suitable demonstrations with the children, this year we marched for the elephants (and as elephants!) to support banning the ivory trade and we supported Friends of the Earth with a demonstration for our right to clean air in Lyndhurst High Street.
We have three seasonal celebrations at the end of each term, which include the Winter Christmas Concert, the Spring Egg Hunt and the Summer Sports Day and Celebration.
At the end of each academic year we put on a major school production of either a classic play or a play written by the Head Teacher, Nicholas.
Each year we also take the Secondary classes on an educational trip abroad. Last year we travelled to Normandy where we stayed in a chateau and visited Rouen, Bayeux and the Normandy D-Day beaches.
Other events have included entering Jane Goodall's 'Roots and Shoots' competition and the 6-a-side Small School Football Tournament, which we won with our first team beating our second team after they both knocked out all the other schools!
