The New Forest Small School is a unique, high quality, small-scale school for all children aged between 3 and 16, situated in the heart of the New Forest. In 2012 we moved to our own new larger premises in Lyndhurst. The school currently has 6 classrooms. We are surrounded by open forest, ideal for walks, nature study and outdoor play. We have a garden area and small, all-weather football / sports area. Children attend mostly on a full time basis, although some children may attend part time.
We are a secular school with no religious or ideological affiliations. We take a non-judgmental, critical view of religions, encouraging tolerance of all beliefs whilst promoting the importance of ‘thinking for yourself’.
Founded in 1994 by the school’s head teachers and proprietors Nicholas and Alison Alp, the New Forest Small School has enjoyed a short but successful history. To find out where the school has come from and where we hope to be going, go to our School History page.
